AquaMaxx Sigma-1 In-Sump Media Reactor
The new Sigma-1 and Sigma-2 media reactors with detachable docking base are now available! These convenient and detachable media canisters make it easy to clean and change out your media. Just twist to lock or unlock the canister from the docking base, keeping the pump and cord stationary in your system at all times.
These multi-purpose in-sump media reactors can be used with carbon and GFO to help eliminate organic pollutants, odors, discolorations and algae fueling elements within marine and reef aquaria. The up-flow design with fluidized plates helps to keep filter media suspended and evenly dispersed in order to provide maximum contact time with your aquarium water. Water is introduced into the bottom of the filter and is then pushed upward through the media and back out into your tank. The integrated adjustable Sicce pump allows you to easily change the flow rate to best suit your needs, all while keeping a minimal footprint for your in-sump setup.
Features:
- Can be used with Carbon or GFO
- Up-flow design for maximum contact time between media and aquarium water
- Detachable canister for easy media changes
- Integrated Sicce pump with adjustable flow rate
- Compact footprint
- Highly efficient, durable, and reliable
- Simple to operate
- Easy to set up and disassemble for cleaning
- Cell-cast acrylic construction
Notes for Use:
Rinse media thoroughly until it runs clear before connecting to the base and plugging in the pump. There are two adjustment points: on the pump and when twisting the canister. Always set the pump to its lowest flow setting and allow the water to fill the entire canister completely and very slowly to prevent media from quickly floating to the top and exiting out of the reactor. Once the chamber is filled, unplug the pump, tap on the reactor to release any trapped bubbles and allow the media to settle. Once you`re ready, plug it back in and adjust the strength of the water flow by twisting the canister slowly, allowing more water to enter for a gentle tumble with your media.
